Division of Student Affairs, Cleveland State University

Hello My name is Jasmine Elder, and it is an honor to serve as the first College Liaison for Concept
Schools. I graduated from Horizon Science Academy in 2010, and my life has been filled with nothing
but blessings and grand opportunities since then. I first want to start by acknowledging how prepared
I was going into college, and how proud I am to call myself a HSA alumna. I ultimately realized that
the relationships you build while in high school, whether that’s with faculty and staff or students,
become very important to your success as adult.
HSA taught me how to “carpe deim.” When I got to college I got involved, I started building even more
relationships, and I kept my academics as top priority. In 2014, I graduated from Cleveland State
University with two bachelor’s degrees in Psychology and Sociology and a minor in Women’s Studies.
Being the first college graduate in my family and at the age of 22, I decided to continue my education.
In May 2017, I will be receive my master’s in Higher Education: Adult Learning & Deveolpment. I am
very fortunate at the age of 23 because I've come to really love and appreciate what having an
education means and does for you. I have established myself and found my purpose in life.
Serving a liaison means I can help others seek their full potential. My background in student
involvement, mentoring, leadership, and service allots me the opportunity everyday to interact with
individuals that this world/ society needs and wants. My goal is to be the perfect role model to those I
help, leave a impression and legacy on this world, and encourage education, selflessness, integrity,
self-identify, and purpose.
Thanks to Concept Schools I can achieve just that!
