Future Institute
The real test of a high school education is how it plays out afterward. CAN graduates are successful, hardworking, and are making contributions in diverse fields. Here are just a few of the many paths taken by Concept Alumni.

Joseph Howard

Joseph Howard is an Alumnus of Horizon Science Academy Cleveland High School, Class of 2014. Currently, Joseph is taking classes at Hiram College.

Current Woman’s Basketball Coach, Future FBI Agent?
After graduating HSA Cleveland I went to Hiram College, where I attend now. I am an undecided major but I am leaning toward Psychology with a minor in Political Science and possibly Sociology. I would like to work in the criminal justice field, as an FBI agent or in the CIA or even as a detective in a police department. As a backup plan I would use my degree to get into teaching for a brief stint and work my way into the administrative part of education. Currently, I am student coaching the women’s basketball team, and coaching is something that I would also consider as a career.

HSA Impact
Horizon Science Academy helped me a lot as far as knowing how to build lasting relationships with teachers and learning to strive for the best that I can do. It has helped me be more diverse in the friends that I have and to better understand their cultures and practices.

Passions
I’m passionate about everything I do. I want to be the best at every assignment and make the most meaningful additions in discussions. I want to be at the top, and when I fall short I really have to learn from those mistakes and find ways to do better the next chance I get.
