How are you a game changer? Or, how are you making a positive impact in your community?
I believe a simple greeting followed by a simple smile can change anybody’s day; many people do not consider these gestures as a way of changing other people’s days or may even their lives, but I consider them because I have been there. As a peer mentor, I send out inspirational weekly quotes to my mentees just to remind them why they started college in the first place and encourage them to continue climbing the stairs of success. I am sure I am making a difference in their lives and positively affecting their decisions.

What is the most amazing or interesting thing that’s happened to you since graduating?
College and responsibility are the two most amazing things that have happened to me since graduating from high school. Since my first day of college, I have realized that I would have to be responsible in order to survive, but most importantly to think of college as responsibility. Yes! College is hard and it is sometimes hard to transition from high school, but college can also be fun and a place to connect with new people that you can learn from and share experiences. I am more than amazed by the way I am able to take of self and help others in my college journey.

Your favorite Concept Schools memory?
I have so many memories from Concept. It is hard to choose one as my favorite because during the four years I spent with Concept I built many unforgettable memories. During my senior year, I had the opportunity to go to Turkey with some of my classmates. This trip gave me the opportunity to be part of a different culture. I was able to learn from my peers and build everlasting memories with them. Turkey is an amazing country, and I would love to do this trip all over again if I get the chance to.

How do you support and participate in the Concept Alumni?
Even though I am two hours away, I am glad to say that I still do my best and manage stay in contact with some of my old teachers, current staff members, my old classmates and friends. I have also been attending the Concept Alumni Dinner since I graduated, and I make time to visit whenever I am in town. I am blessed, honored, and satisfied to be part of the Concept Alumni Network.
