Briefly, describe your career path.
|
I currently attend University of Cincinnati and major in Social Work. I am currently a junior. Once I graduate,
I plan on furthering my education and ultimately getting a master’s degree in Social Work.
|
What are you passionate about in your work/school?
|
Aside from balancing my class schedule and work schedule, I spend time volunteering at the local VA medical center and enjoy working with former
service members and hearing stories from the battlefield. I am very passionate about the development of people. I love working and helping others,
especially veterans. There is so much to learn about prior service members, which always intrigues me each time I volunteer. Apart from that, I am
involved in several other organizations, one of them being Every Nation Campus Ministry. My involvement in this group requires me to learn more
about God, which is the most important thing I am passionate about. My passion in learning more about God not only helps me, but helps those around
me develop an understanding.

Where is your career headed?
|
Once I graduate college, I plan on going to a school in North Carolina in order to pursue a master’s degree in Social Work.
|
How has your Concept Schools experience helped shape your success?
|
Going to Horizon middle and high school provided me the comfort of seeing similar faces. I was able to talk to my peers and interact with
teachers. I was also provided with many opportunities and incentives. Concept Schools made the transition from high school to college fairly
easy. One of the ways they did that is putting a big emphasis on culture development. While in high school, I was able to learn about different
cultures, which made it easier for me to develop culture competency while in college.
|
How are you making a positive impact in your community?
|
Helping is my gift from God and I use it by helping individuals in my local area, whether it is teaching children at my workplace about what it’s like to be an adult or spending time with the elders in order to give them comfort and a bright smile.
