Briefly describe your career path.
|
I am currently working with Concept Alumni Network (CAN) at their central office. I plan on attending college this spring and
although, partly undecided I’ve narrowed down my highest interests to psychology and engineering. I plan on using the skills I
learn in college to make a major impact on our community and hopefully make it a better place.
|
What are you passionate about in your work/school?
|
In my work, I am passionate about making an impact in my community and future generations. There are many changes in our
community that could make it a better place and by continuing to do what I do and achieving my future plans I could make a major
impact.
|
Where is your career headed?
|
With my choice in majors, I plan on using a combination of both to create new inventions and help people in need. Whether I end
up focusing more on psychology or engineering, my main goal will always be to make an impact on the lives of people in need
and communities around me as well as mine.
|
How has your Concept Schools (CMSA) experience helped shape your success?
|
My high school experience at Chicago Math & Science Academy has had a major impact on my future goals. There were many
resources that were offered to us by the school and not many people know about all the opportunities available to them. It made
me think about what all those people in need could do if they were informed about certain opportunities.
|
How are you a game changer? Or, how are you making a positive impact in your community?
|
I strongly consider myself a game changer because I have tried to do as much as I can for my community. I have had the
initiative and the confidence to try and make a change. Every once in a while I make sandwiches and go to surrounding
neighborhoods where there happens to be a lot of poverty and hand them out. I have also volunteered in soup kitchens and
daycare centers to help out the children. Every small action may lead to a bigger one and that’s one goal I hope to accomplish in
the future.

What is your advice for current Concept Students?
|
My advice for current Concept students would be to get work done and find time for yourself to do what you like. High school is
stressful and it’s important to give yourself a break. Get work done to help yourself in the future because having that knowledge
will benefit you a lot going forth in school. Everything you do will pay off so, try to look at the positive side!
