Icesis Z. Scott

Icesis Z. Scott is an Alumna of HSA Cleveland High School, Class of 2009. Currently, Icesis is studying Political Science and International Relations.

Briefly, describe your career path.
I am currently completing my degree in Political Science and International Relations at Turgut Ozal University in Ankara, Turkey.
 
What are you passionate about in your work/school?
I’m passionate about the international atmosphere in which I study. It has given me so much insight into how culture and other factors shape who we are and how the factors may make us different, but so very similar at the same time.
 
Where is your career headed?
I see myself working for an organization like the United Nations sometime in the not-so-distant future.
 
How are you a game changer?
I would consider myself a game changer because I constantly challenge myself to think outside the box. I do not give up or give in easily and I apply this to every aspect of my life, especially with regards to my studies and my ambitions for the future.
 
What is the most amazing or interesting thing that’s happened to you since graduating?
One of the most amazing things that have happened to was my move to Turkey. It really played a major role in my growth as a person. I have learned about tolerance and acceptance. I have learned about getting past the misconceptions, stereotypes, and fears about the unknown or “the different” that many of us unknowingly possess.
 
Your favorite Concept Schools memory?
My favorite memory would have to be the atmosphere of accomplishment and pride that my classmates and I felt as we approached the final days of our senior year. I remember looking back to my freshman year and thinking to myself, “Wow, I made it.” It’s the same feeling I have when I look back to that day I could finally call myself a graduate.
