Briefly describe your career path.
|
I am currently enrolled as a freshman at the University of Michigan-Dearborn, majoring in physics. My
main goal is to transfer to the University of Michigan-Ann Arbor. As a student there, I plan to obtain my
master’s degree in astrophysics/astronomy. In the meanwhile, I will be working at the observatory at my
current university. I will also be applying to work at NASA in the near future.
|
What are you passionate about in your work/school?
|
As a young child, I was always intrigued by the stars. My parents bought me a star guiding book with
constellations and how to locate them, ever since then I have had a passion for them. I am currently
working as a CYSP Tutor. I find it fulfilling to pass on my knowledge to the students in this program,
which I know will help them in the future.
|
Where is your career headed?
|
In the future, I plan to work at NASA, where I can be a part of the team that expands the frontier of our
time. I have always seen exploration as a hobby, space exploration can put my hobby into global use for
humanity.

How has your Concept Schools, Michigan Math and Science Academy (MMSA) experience helped shape your success?
|
Through MMSA, I have had many opportunities that I used to my advantage. It got encouraged me to
take part of all of the science fairs and math competitions in the area, including CONSEF. This helped me
step out of my comfort zone and demonstrate my knowledge to my peers and teachers. I also had the
chance to travel to Turkey and experience the culture.
|
How are you a game changer?
|
I feel that my long-lived love for both exploration and the stars are what will really further our
knowledge as a species of the vast universe we reside in. I hope that in the future I can make a great
change in the world.
|
Your favorite Concept Schools memory?
|
That is a tough one. I have had many fantastic memories while I attended MMSA. I guess the one that
sticks out the most is going to Turkey. I met so many people, not just natives but also students from
other schools. Generally, the dorm nights were really fun, and we got to have late night tea each night.
It was also really fun to shadow some of the students at the high school and experience their everyday
life at their school.
|
What is your advice for current Concept Students?
|
My advice is simple: Never give up on your dreams, and always work hard to achieve them. A great GPA,
extra-curricular activities that embody your passions, and overall a good heart is what leads to success in
achieving your dreams.
